Casino Roulette
Websites
these days bombard you with information about roulette, never bothering
to differentiate between the online versions available, and classic casino
roulette. Some searching for casino roulette of course, are really looking
for a good game of real money roulette. While others just want to know
a little more about how one goes about playing roulette in the casino.
Walking up to the roulette table in a casino might seem a little intimidating,
but truly the game isn't complicated, and the sophisticated air the casinos
try to create around the table are just there to make people feel rich.
People who feel rich spend more money. So ignore the tuxedos and pay attention
to the game. Something many people who have only played roulette online
don't know, is that casino roulette is the only game that uses 'casino
chips'. Other games in the casino use 'checks', though they are rarely
called by their official name (at the craps table you'll hear people asking
for 'check change'). At the roulette table when you buy in, you are issued
a specific color of chip, and they are all worth the same amount (whatever
you choose to buy in for). You're the only person at the table using that
color chip, so the dealers know how to pay back bets.
A typical round of casino roulette goes like this: just after the dealer
has finished paying off bets for the previous round, the table is declared
open for bets. The dealer usually states aloud 'place your bets'. Shortly
after the dealer will take the marble and set the wheel in motion. After
the ball has been spinning for a while, during which time everybody has
placed their bets, the dealer waves their hands over the table and declares
'no more bets'. This is usually a few seconds before the ball falls off
of the rim of the wheel and starts tumbling about, trying to find a place
to come to rest.
If you place bets after the dealer has called it, the bet may be deemed
invalid, and if it wins you wont get paid. Some people have become very
good at guessing where the ball will land from just after it starts to
tumble off of the upper edge. Small groups of people have then used this
by having a player stand by the wheel, indicate as early as possible what
they think the winning number will be, then through hand gestures they
will indicate to a partner at the end of the table to place the bet. A
bet made this late would almost always be called off, so the small team
has another accomplice distract the dealer just as the late bet is being
made. They usually accomplish this distraction by placing a very obvious
false late bet, which the dealer sees and focuses all of his attention
on.
Casino roulette hustlers have likely made a good bit of cash this way,
but it requires some very skilled observers, not to mention a lot of guts!
Once you've placed your bet on the table, just sit back and wait, if
you win the dealer will mark your winning bet (if it's an inside bet)
or pay it immediately (if it's an outside bet), then sweep all of the
losing bets from the table. After the sweep the winning inside bets are
paid off, and a new round begins.
